Shui Hsien, Rock Tea, Water Fairy, Water Sprite
Saphera’s Shui Xian loose leaf oolong is a beautiful glossy black tea that produces a dark amber liquid. It has a strong aroma and a robust, long-lasting taste. Shui Xian has been used for a number of Chinese medicinal purposes with weight loss and cholesterol reduction a key among them.
Shui Xian Oolong is produced in the beautiful Wuyi mountains region of Fujian – a place considered to be a natural arboretum because the ecology has remained the same for over three million years. The mountainous areas and rocky terrain have given this tea its nickname of "Rock Tea". Aside from that, Shui Xian is known by a number of other names with Shui Hsien most popular among them.
When buying Shui Xian oolong, be sure to look for teas grown in the Wuyi mountains as cheaper varieties are grown in other regions of Fujian and often have a somewhat burnt taste. These also lack the pronounced flavour but the lower cost makes them a favorite tea served in public Chinese places.
