Essential oils found in rosebuds are known for their potential calming qualities and are believed to help increase cardiovascular health and improved circulation. In addition, rosebud teas have a high vitamin C content which is thought to help boost the immune system, act as a natural antihistamine and possibly speed the healing of wounds and bruises when taken orally.
Historically, rosebud teas have been very popular among women and were often used by ladies at court. Rosebuds have also played an important role in Chinese medicine for thousands of years. Rosebuds were used as a mild sedative, antidepressant and anti-inflammatory agent.
Rosebud teas can be infused on their own or mixed with other teas to form unique tastes. They are commonly added to black teas, green teas and oolong teas to make a wonderful and healthy natural blend.
